Kolibri

The excellent Kolibri are a St Peterburg all female band who've been around since the late 80s. The music is difficult to categorise; to call them Art Rock, to compare them with Auktion or British band Miranda Sex Garden or their spin-off Medieval Babes, doesn't really come close to describing their approach. For breadth of influences, Akvarium might be a better analogy, but the only way to appreciate their music, which takes in rock, jazz, dance and electronic experimentalism, is to hear it.
