Alexander Karpov An important figure on the Russian music scene, Karpov was involved in all sorts of music, including translating musicals into Russian for production in Russia. His own music was a fine example of the Russian love of Celtic music and he often called himself 'O'Karpov'. Tragically, he also figures in another of the stories on this site, as he was attending the musical 'Nord Ost' with his wife on the night of the siege. He survived mistreatment at the hands of the terrorists, only to succumb to the gas used in the storming of the building. We hope to give more detail to this terrible story later, but you can find some information in English on his site (mainly in Russian, though). O'Karpov: Official site, with a number of MP3s. |
