Kazan People While the pages take better shape, here are some pictures of Kazan people who I made friends with. |

Natasha Kraeva is a lovely lady - a great friend and
so willing to help with problems. It was thanks to her that I was able
to spend a lengthy stay in the city. She found me a place to live and
plenty of work. Second from the left is Sergei, who taught at the Soros
Institute where I worked and also taught me on my first study visit.
His wife on the left was entertaining us and another guest.

| After a few months I became close friends with Michael (at the back), mainly because we both liked the local brew! As a result, we spent time in local taverns and made friends with Lyonya (left), Paulina (middle) and Zhanna (front). All were regular visitors to my flat and me to theirs. Sadly, I no longer have contact with Michael, very rarely with Lyonya and none with Zhanna. I hope they are all well and happy. Paulina and I later married. | ||||||||
| I had a birthday whilst in Kazan and here are some pictures from the party. On the left of this one is Nadir, who I gave some lessons in English, but who quickly became a good friend. He helped me a lot with dealing with officials in Russia - not an easy task. Still a good friend, he has stayed with me in England and is currently studying in USA. A talented architect. Next to him is Anna, Lyonya's girlfriend at the time and Paulina's friend. | ||||||||
