Thief (Вор)

Vladimir Mashkov stars as Taljan, a handsome, charming and seemingly every woman's dream. He wins the heart of Katya and makes a home with her and her small son Sanya. Unfortunately, Taljan is an unprincipled conman who is about to wreck their lives. This is really Sanya's story played largely through his eyes, as he struggles to come to terms with the loss of his own father and the arrival of this new male presence. He stays true to his father's memory for as long as he can until, tragically, at the moment he really needs him, Taljan, too, is taken from his life. A moving story with great performances by the cast, especially Misha Filipchuk as the young Sanya. Available on DVD with English subtitles.
